Subject of the 2002 non-fiction children’s book Hana’s Suitcase by Karen Levine, she was a 13 year old Jewish girl who was murdered in the Holocaust.
She and her brother watched their parents be arrested and taken by the Nazis when she was 8 years old.
She was taken to Theresienstadt concentration camp before being sent to Auschwitz, where she died in the gas chambers.
She was born in Nové Město, in the Czechoslovak province Moravia-Silesia, and died in Auschwitz, Poland.
Her brother George Brady was working as a labourer when she passed away.
