Biography - A Short Wiki
Famous for claiming to be the oldest living person in the world, this Mexican woman was allegedly 127 years old in 2014.
During the second decade of the 20th century, she led a group of women (Lumbreras) in combat during the Mexican Revolution and had a romantic relationship with fellow Mexican revolutionary Margarito Maldonado.
She named chocolate and abundant sleep as two of the reasons for her longevity.
She was raised in Mexico by musician parents. Though she never married, she birthed and raised five children, all of whom she outlived.
Because Lumbreras misplaced her birth certificate during the 1970s, Japanese supercentenarian Misao Okawa was officially recognized in 2013 as the world’s oldest living person. Okawa was born on March 5, 1898.
